Sucess Habits - Goal Setting

Today’s topic is the importance of setting goals! It is amazing to know that only 2% to 3% of Americans ever write down their goals! Guess who are the successful ones! Yes that’s right those who right down their goals!

Writing your goals down gives focus and clarity and leads to the right activity that will give you the results you are looking for. Many great speakers have put it so well, including Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and Les Brown. In fact I have selected some videos you will see on the right that are related to goal setting by these great teachers.

Zig Ziglar breaks down the formula well … here are the steps

• Step 1 Work out the objective
• Step 2 Work out the time you expect the goal to be completed
• Step 3 Identify the obstacles
• Step 4 Work out the people, organizations you need to work with
• Step 5 Devise a plan of action and settle what you need to know
• Step 6 Write it all down be clear as to what is in it for me.

Remember your goals are time bound.

The most important goal you set is your daily goal. Meeting your daily goal is like one brick in the wall. It is repeated each day until the wall is built! So it is important to understand where you want to end up! So first think about your yearly goal and break that down so you know what activity you need to do each and every day to fulfill that goal. Work with your mentor on this if you are not sure.

Your daily goal should be specific and clear so that it will yield the results you are looking for. Daily goals is activity that achieves the result you are looking for that day. If you successfully meet your daily goal repeatedly over the 90 days and complete 4 successful 90 day plans then you will meet your yearly goal.

Thinking and planning, sitting down and writing your goals is a very exciting and empowering activity. The importance of writing your goals down cannot be overstated and is vital that you do this if you want the success in your business.
