United Airlines Major Customer Error

Read More: Positive Thinking

Illustrates how the internet has affected or changed customer service?  Pretty dang important how we handle things?

A musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines.  United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar ($3500) during a flight.  Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar.  During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for youtube exposing their lack of cooperation.  The Manager responded : "Good luck with that one, pal".
So he posted a retaliatory video on youtube.  The video has since received over 7.8 million hits.  United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video. Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal".
Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for the product recognition from the video that has lead to a sharp increase in orders. .

Plus there are several associated videos by Carroll, United Airlines, and the Customer Relations Manager, too.  An example of how 'positive thinking' followed by postive actions can yield massive results.

Here is the video.

Love this one, Terry!

I had seen this video quite a while ago (I was among the first million or so :-). The neat part of this tale is that the outcome, using the power of networking through technology, has changed many lives and effected at least two businesses (one for the better and one for the worse). YouTube is watching!

Sweet! Brilliant Way To Get The Big Guys Good!

This was great! I haven't see that video before Terry. Thanks, it definitely proves the power in the Internet. What a creative idea on Dave's part. I may have to use this idea next time I have a problem... lol

Funny and Sad

This video was funny, I enjoyed watching it. Sad because he had to go through the drama, but it all worked out in the end all because of his approach. Awesome
