How to Install a Facebook comment stream to ANY website

Adding a Facebook comment stream to almost any website is a great idea for a few reasons. 

First off there's the aspect of social proof.  People will trust you and your content more if other people say it's good.  If there are a lot of people leaving great comments, you'll get your social proof.

Second there is the viral exposure feature.  Included in the comment stream is the "like" button.  When people click that they like your website, all of there friends now know that they like your website, and will see a link to your website.  Thus, viral exposure.  Now when someone actually writes a comment, there is an option which is automatically selected, unless they uncheck the box, that posts their comment to their profile on Facebook.  This comment on their profile also has a link back to your website.

I just followed half your lesson because I found a plugin for WordPress called Facebook Comments which accepts that app ID and seems to work just like you described... but for other than WP sites I won't be able to take shortcuts;)
