It seems everyone wants to have a go, but where do they go for an overview to the industry first, without overload & overwhelm?
I'm a real newbie to the internet & it's massive overwhelm for me! Everything I see is great, until I get in & find it isn't what it seemed at first. Like for instance..."cut'n'paste this html code into your meta tag."..or something that probably would have made more sense in Chinese at first.
The field is just so big, the opportunities are endless, there's just so much stuff, no wonder 98% fail!
Talk about vertical take offs in understanding! Straight up the rock face...with no rope around my waist. I called myself not a miner, not a shop keeper for this period of time, but I coined a new category...a tourist!
You know how you buy the coconut bras in the Islands when your'e on a cruise & wear them to the show that night & take them home & put them under your bed & never regret buying them, because you had fun?
Well, I think there is a bunch of people who really are like poker machine players. Just do it & if it pays out...great! if not; you had a ball anyway! Tourists having fun!
The pathway to MLM succes, or probably; Internet Marketing Success, seems surely littered with maxed out credit cards, old cars & rented houses if 98% fail!
I aim to succeed...somehow, even if I don't yet know what a meta tag is, even tho' this afternoon, I have to try & "do one" in this new program I've joined, which sent me here!
This is amazing stuff for an oldie like me, who had only candles & kerosene lamps before electricity came around & our first car was a "T-Model" Ford with a wooden tray on the back, us kids all rode in... sure is awesome to see this now!

You hit the nail on the head. It's tough out there. Who do you trust? What do you trust? I've been in the industry for 29 years and when I started, it was easy - we didn't have all the distractions of the internet, cell phones, DVD's, CD's, Mp3's, Mpeg's, megabites and metatags. We just talked with people about our business and they were either interested or not. Interesting. I wonder if that would still work in our high tech world?
It's interesting that when I speak in front of network marketing groups, I typically ask how many were sponsored by someone they knew and most of the hands go up. Even with the internet and all the technology, most people still join a network marketing company through someone they know.
So, here's the real secret. Talk with people you know and people they know and people they know. You'll never run out of people. I can guarantee there are a bunch of them who would love to make some extra money, hate their jobs, and would like to have more time freedom. If you've got a good network marketing business, then you can offer them a solution. Just ask questions and uncover their needs, then present your business.
As for the internet, it's a great tool, if you know what to do. The key is to first find a solid network marketing business. Not a fly-by-night internet deal, but the real deal with solid products or services. A company that has been around a few years, has a solid management team, and compensation plan that will work for the average person. Once you've got the company, then you want to generate leads.
